for the Science of Creation
Dan W Reynolds, PhD, will present Part 2 of a two-part series entitled Icons of Evolution and Zombie Science, named after two books by Jonathan Wells. Part 1 focused primarily on Icons. Part 2 will focus primarily on Zombie Science. In Part 2, several new icons of evolution will be discussed such as whale evolution, the human appendix, human "tails", "junk" DNA, the "poor" design of the human eye, antibiotic resistance, and cancer. Wells explains why none of these topics support macroevolution and shows that the apparent poor designs and /or functionless organs/molecules were based upon ignorance which new research has disproved. Yet despite the evidence, many of these icons still appear in biology texts. Other topics such as the impact of evolutionary thinking on education, medicine, social mores, human dignity, and science itself will be touched upon. This talk is recommended especially for students being taught evolution.
