TASC Meeting

TASC is currently meeting online.

Was Light Faster in the Past? Analysis of arguments for and against.

The March TASC meeting will consider arguments both for and against the thesis that light traveled faster in the past.

One explanation of apparent extremely old ages for distant stars and galaxies is that the speed of light was faster in the past. There are arguments both for and against this hypothesis. We shall examine both sides of this issue, with the goal to determine whether the arguments are valid. Relativity, LIGO results, and atomic clock data will be among the factors considered.
